Mickey,

Who are the key recruits we are looking to get with the new class that have not committed? Are there any surprises out there that we are not heading about?

Stuart

Stuart,

Trevion Thompson is a wide receiver from Durham, NC that Clemson is bringing in this weekend. He had a terrific week at two all-star games this year. Clemson could lead for him after this weekend.

The staff will also bring in Corey Thomas a defensive lineman from Alabama this weekend. Thomas has been committed to Tennessee but the Tigers have a chance to turn him this weekend.

Perhaps the biggest prospect still on the board is Andrew Williams a defensive end from Atlanta. He will visit Auburn this weekend and has Clemson set for the final weekend of the year.

Fans should remember that Clemson is limited on numbers this year and rally have to be very selective in the closing weeks.

In terms of surprises, I think every staff in the country is still trying to poach and get a guy that may be committed elsewhere but most are very quiet about their pursuit.

Mickey,

Uga.rivals has him on the hot board for the dl coach. What have you heard about any staff turnover at Clemson?

would leave Clemson. First, he likes his current job. Second, he has a ton of talent coming back at defensive tackle. Finally, he is a very loyal person. I don't see him as being a guy that sees the grass as greener on the other side. However, you never know with the rest of the staff because money is getting bigger each year.

Mickey

Can you refresh my memory on the JUCO players policy at Clemson and the ACC? It appears South Carolina has three or four junior college players committed for this recruiting class. Interestingly I think all of them are defensive linemen and probably pretty good ones.

It seems the SEC and certain schools in particular emphasize this strategy. Do you feel the benefits outweigh any drawbacks? Does Coach Swinney choose not to recruit junior college kids or does a school or ACC policy prohibit it? Sort of feels like we're missing the boat by not filling specific needs with a couple of these kids each year.

Bobby

Bobby,

Clemson has a hard time with JUCOs for two reasons. First, Clemson does not accept D's on transcripts. A lot of JUCO players are in JUCO for a reason and D's are on so many transcripts. Most of those JUCO prospects don't have enough hours that they can afford to have hours that don't transfer. Second, Clemson is limited in the number of majors and it is hard to fit a guy into many of the majors offered at Clemson.
