Clemson, SC-Clemson golfers Matt Hendrix and Jack Ferguson were both

named second-team All-Americans by the Golf Coaches Association of

America on Monday. It was the second consecutive year that both

Hendrix led the Tigers in stroke average in 2003-04 with a

71.00 figure. He had six top 10 finishes, including medallist

honors at the Puerto Rico Classic in February and the Augusta State

Invitational in April. He finished third at the ACC Tournament and

21st at the NCAA East Regional, helping the Tigers to team

championships at both events for the second straight year. Hendrix,

a starter on Clemson's 2003 National Championship team, is a native

of Aiken who graduated from Clemson on May 7.

Ferguson was a junior this past season when he posted a

71.39 stroke average, second on the Clemson team. Ferguson had five

top 10 individual finishes and a team best 10 top 20s in his 13

events in 2003-04. He finished second at the ACC tournament with a

206 total and was third at the Atlanta Intercollegiate. Clemson has

been a starter on two ACC Championship teams, two NCAA Regional

champions and one NCAA Championship team in his Clemson career. He

ranks fourth in Clemson history in career stroke average entering

next year.
