CLEMSON RECRUITING

Zimmerman Now Firm With Clemson Commitment

by -

CLEMSON, SC -- According to MickyPlyler.com Bennettsville, SC

wide receiver Tymere Zimmerman has firmed up his commitment to Clemson. Zimmerman originally committed to the Tigers in September 1999 as a junior. However, as recently as last week Zimmerman said he was confused about his future as he tried to decide between offers from Auburn, South Carolina, North Carolina and Clemson.

After an in-school visit from Clemson assistant Rick Stockstill on Monday the 6-3, 190-pound Marlboro County senior decided to end his recruiting and pick the Tigers.

Zimmerman is a versatile athlete that is being recruited on both sides of the football. In his senior campaign Zimmerman had 53 catches for 1,253 yards and was selected to play in the NC-SC Shrine Bowl. As a junior he had 59 catches for 853 yards, 7 interceptions, and 89 tackles.

He is rated as the No. 4 prospect in the state of South Carolina by mickeyplyler.com.

Mickey Plyler will be interviewing Zimmerman on Monday afternoon on his radio show "Plyler on Sports" on 1070AM in upstate South Carolina.

Briefly....Quarterback commitment Ryan Cubit will follow his father Bill Cubit to Rutgers and has decommited from Clemson. This leaves Clemson with 28 total commitments now.
