Here is part 2 of our look back at the 2001 regular season and some of the plays that made it
an unpredictable and exciting year. In part #1 we looked at plays #30 to #21. Plays #10 to #1 will be released on Thursday.

#20 Woody Dantzler runs for 14 yards on third down with the Tigers only up by 8 with 2 minutes to go in the game. Although the play was designed to run to the left, Dantzler reverses field when a NCSU defender comes free unblocked and gets the Tigers the first down they need to run out the clock. After the game said Wolfpack coach Chuck Amato says "I can't imagine there being a better player in America than Woody Dantzler."
#19 Woody Dantzler’s desparation heave on the last play of the game that's tipped, and Hamilton almost catches in stride running 5 yards behind the defense that would have gave Clemson the win over rival SC.
#18 Travis Zachery's one-yard TD run with 6:33 left against Duke gives him 50 for his career which is second all-time in the ACC history. [ Also in the game Travis Zachery became just the fourth running back in ACC history to reach 3000 yards rushing and 1000 yards receiving in a career. Zachery also set a new Clemson’s career all-purpose rushing mark in the game. ]
#17 Travis Zachery's 52-yard TD run in which he runs over a would be tackler that gives Clemson the lead for good against Duke.
#16 On third and 5 in overtime against Georgia Tech, JJ McKelvey makes an acrobatic catch to give the Tigers a first down at the 15.

#15 Trailing 14-10 to Wofford, Freshman defensive end Moe Fountain’s hit on Wofford quarterback Travis Wilson, forces a bad pitch. Eric Meekins recovers the fumble and runs 29 yards for the TD to jump start the Tigers versus Wofford.

#14 “Panther Play”: Terrance Huey takes a handoff through his legs from Woody Danztler and runs for a 16-yard touchdown against UVA. It was not only his first career carry but his first offensive play.
#13 Woody Dantzler’s 55-yard TD run gets Clemson off to a good start against NCSU and in purple pants. The run was also the longest of the year. Dantzler would account for 517 yards of total offense and six touchdowns on the day.

#12 Woody Dantzler's 47-yard TD pass to Roscoe Crosby against Duke. See #11.
#11 Woody Dantzler's 58-yard TD pass to Roscoe Crosby against Duke. Crosby ended the day with 6 receptions for 139 yards and two long touchdowns. #12 and #11 could be top 10 plays easy if they convince Crosby to come back to football after baseball this summer. [The yardage total broke the Clemson freshman single-game record, set earlier this season by Derrick Hamilton. Crosby's six receptions also set a Clemson single season record for receptions by a first-year freshman this year with 23.]
