CLEMSON FOOTBALL

Tommy Sharpe Wake Forest Postgame Quotes

by -

On the game: “What was it? We had five possessions in the first half and three turnovers and a lot of points resulted from that. They played a great game and we shot ourselves in the foot every chance we got. We deserve every point that they got. We just didn’t show up to play and we deserved the whooping we took.

On how to get over this loss: “Go to practice and watch film. Correct the mistakes and move on. No good is going to come out of this. You just got to be motivated. We got a great team in FSU next week, and you just got to show up and play next week. Forget about it.

On the effort of the offensive line: “I felt I played a hundred percent on every play. I tried my best. I really don’t know how everybody else did. I felt like the guys beside me Chip (Myrick), Natan (Bennett), Cedric (Johnson) , and Brandon (Pilgrim) played their hearts out. I just don’t know what happened. You got to watch film and see.”

On people talking about Coach Bowden’s job now: “A win shuts everybody up. There is nothing we can do. We deserve what we get. We shouldn’t let the fans down like this. We shouldn't let us down like this. We deserve to have pressure on us. We didn’t play good. We had a horrible game. The fans deserve to be mad. I’m glad they expect more of out of us. I’m glad they are mad when we play like this because we should be better than this. This is not Clemson football and we let a lot of people down.”

On Coach Bowden’s message after the game to the team: “We are going after it next week. 100 miles an hour in practice We got to get after it. We got to prepare ourselves the best we can for a great FSU team.”
