Bowden statement, Feb. 13, 2007

" I appreciate the fact that President Barker has committed to having the process reviewed, and that we will have input into that review. I look forward to participating.

" I believe in academic integrity. My job is to recruit student-athletes who can be successful academically and help us win a championship.

"We have a record that proves we are committed to academic integrity and I am proud of that record.

"I have confidence that the University administration understands the importance of recruiting on a level playing field and that we will be able to recruit on a level playing field in the future.

" I have tremendous respect for the faculty, staff and administration at Clemson University. I know that we have a better chance of being successful if we all work together."
