CLEMSON, SC -- Highly prized recruit Todd McClinton will be allowed to enroll at Clemson as a partial qualifier. The Tigers already have one partial qualifier Terrance Huey, but Clemson officials appealed for another, and it was granted.

"It was a normal appeals process to the ACC," said athletic director Bobby Robinson. "We asked for consideration and it was approved. It was with a conference call with all the ACC faculty reps. He will be starting classes tomorrow."

As a partial qualifier McClinton will have 4 years to play 3. He will not be
eligible to play in any games this year, but if he graduates on time he will get the fourth year back as did current Tiger Terry Witherspoon.

McClinton averaged 18 yards a catch at C.A. Johnson High in Columbia, SC his senior year with
32 catches for 663 yards and six scores. He was ranked by many to be the number one tight end
prospect in the country last year.
