Clemson's first two football games of the 2004 season will be broadcast on ABC television. The Atlantic Coast Conference released television designations and kickoff times for some September games on Thursday. Clemson's opener against Wake Forest at Clemson on September 4 will kick off at 3:30 PM and will be televised by ABC. Wake Forest is the last team to defeat Clemson, as the Tigers finished the 2003 season on a four-game winning streak after the Demon Deacons defeated Clemson in Winston Salem, NC on November 1. It will be the first time Wake Forest has been the opening game on Clemson's schedule since 1968.

The second game of the year against Georgia Tech will also take place in Death Valley and will kick off at 8:00 PM. The Georgia Tech game also will be televised by ABC, the first time that network has televised a game in prime time from Clemson Memorial Stadium. Clemson defeated Georgia Tech last year in Atlanta, 39-3, Clemson's largest margin of victory in the series in 100 years. Each of the last four meetings between the two schools at Clemson has been decided by five points or less. With Wake Forest and Georgia Tech opening the season at Death Valley, it marks the first time since 1958 that Clemson has played its first two games of the year at home against conference foes. The game time has also been set for the October 16 contest between the Tigers and Utah State. The Homecoming game will kickoff at 1:00 PM. The October 7th Virginia game in Charlottesville, VA will be a part of ESPN's Thursday night package and will have a 7:30 PM start to the broadcast.
