On being in South Florida:

“Had an opportunity to come down and get a little taste of it a few weeks ago for the press conference but it’s exciting. We’ve had good preparation at Clemson, um, we took a nice break over Christmas…this is really special to see our players be greeted like it and really have an opportunity to be a part of a big time BCS bowl.”

On being in South Florida:

“It was either keep ‘em in practice all the way to Christmas eve or I let ‘em go the 22nd and we had to get back going you can only take so much time off, we needed to get back going today. It just made more sense to just come on down here then than to bring everybody back to Clemson….think it’s going to work out good for us”

On which players made the trip:

“Most everybody is on the charter. We got all of our Florida kids some of the south Georgia kids getting here on their own and probably 6 or 7 guys…they’ll all be arriving some of them are already here.”

On the South Florida weather:

“It was great it was like 34 degrees and raining when we left Clemson so this was uh, an awesome reward for a long year to be able to come down here and some spend some quality time in a great place like Miami, fl, fort Lauderdale and to enjoy this time and weather.”

On departing the plane and the welcome provided by the Orange Bowl Committee:

“The bus? I love it! I love it. It’s really neat. It’s again, just one of those little things that let you know that you’re at the Orange Bowl.”

On Clemson’s goals:

“Were coming to win-that’s our objective. We’ve got a good plan in place and we’ve put a lot of thought into it. From our standpoint...also have that balance of enjoying the bowl…”

On departing the plane and the welcome provided by the Orange Bowl Committee:

It was great; the weather is nice, the wind blowing a little bit, seeing Obie over here and the (greeting by the) Orange Bowl Committee. This is great and we just appreciate everybody being here. I’m just very excited.

On acclimating to the warm weather:

It might take us a little bit (to get acclimated). It’s been in the lower 60s back in Clemson so it hasn’t been too bad. We’ll definitely sweat a lot today in practice. I’m definitely looking forward to it and I’m just excited being down here and playing this game

On Balancing fun and seriousness of football:

We’ve got to keep everybody focused on this game. It’s going to be a fun trip and we’re excited about it, but again it is a business trip for us.

On West Virginia:

They’re a good team. They’ve got some speed out there and they are going to come ready to play. We’ve got to be prepared.

On departing the plane and the welcome provided by the Orange Bowl Committee:

It was very exciting. The first thing that caught my eye was the orange carpet. That’s when you really know you’ve achieved something in life, when you get to walk on the carpet. It felt really good (to see) the people that were out here. It was very creative with the bus. It’s really neat. (Team buses are wrapped in photos of the team from during the season)

On West Virginia:

They are great team. I’ve watched a lot of film on them and they’ve got a good coaching staff and great players. Geno Smith is a heckuva player. (He’s got a lot of) speed. It’s going to be a really good game.

On getting acclimated to the weather:

I remember it being very hot (when we played Miami in 2009). It feels good. I’m hot already, but I like it when its warm.
