Tigers Look to Get Healthy After Spring Game

CLEMSON, SC -- A total of seven football players underwent various surgeries after the
spring game April 15.


Free safety Marcus Houskin and offensive guard Will Merritt both had their
knees scoped. Wide receiver Rod Gardner and offensive tackle John McDermott
had their ankles scoped. Linebacker David Ellis had his shoulder scoped and
place kicker Tony Lazzara had the knee of his plant leg scoped.


Linebacker Rodney Feaster had a pin inserted in a broken thumb that he
suffered the Wednesday before the spring game.


According to sports information director Tim Bourret, both offensive guard
Theo Mougros and cornerback Darrell Crutchfield are recovering on schedule
from torn ACLs and should be ready to start fall practice with the rest of
the team.


The freshmen will report on August 6 and the rest of the team will report on
August 9.
