CLEMSON RECRUITING

Tigers Land 10th Football Commitment

by - Correspondent -

CLEMSON -- Free safety C.J. Woodard from Northern Vance High School in Henderson, N.C.,

announced his intentions to play for the Tigers next fall. The 6-foot,

180-pound Woodard already has academically qualified, according to his high

school coach, Randy Long.

"He's a good, all-around kid," Long said Thursday evening. "He comes from a

great family. But on the football field he's a tenacious hitter. He's really

nasty out there. When he steps on the field, it seems like our team intensity

goes way up."

Woodard, an All-Conference performer both on the field and in the classroom

(3.4 GPA), chose Clemson over Stanford, Wake Forest, North Carolina and N.C.

State.

"He always liked Clemson, and when he visited there in the summer it helped

make his decision," Long said. "He was really comfortable with coach (Mike)

O'Cain, who recruited him, and Clemson's where he wanted to go."
