CLEMSON, SC - Clemson wrapped up its second day of full squad practice with two sessions on Saturday. Interceptions by Eric Meekins and Travis Pugh highlighted another strong effort by the defense as the Tigers prepare for the season opener Aug. 31 at Georgia.

"The defense continued to look good," said Head Coach Tommy Bowden. "I think offensively we had a little more success then we had yesterday. Defensively, we got a few turnovers which is a good sign."

Michael Collins suffered a chest injury and Jeff Scott suffered a shoulder injury during Saturday's workouts. Both players are listed as day-to-day. Tigers Kevin Younglblood, Bobby Williamson and Vontrell Jamison all missed action on Saturday after suffering injuries on Friday, but all three players, as well as injured freshman Dustin Fry, are expected to return next week.

The players and coaches will not practice on Sunday in order to participate in Fan Appreciation Day at Death Valley 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM. All Clemson players and coaches will be available for autographs and to pose for photos under the South Stands at Death Valley. The function will not be held in Littlejohn Coliseum due to the renovation projects at that facility.

"It's a chance for the fans to get an up close and personal look at the players," said Bowden. "A lot of our fans have to sit in the upper deck and we close our practices to the public, so this is an opportunity to see a little bit of the players' personalities. It's a chance for us to pay something back to them. It's not much, but it's all we can do."

Admission is free of charge. Clemson posters also will be available. Game tickets and the Clemson Media Guide also may be purchased on Sunday.

The football team be back in action with two practices on Monday. Both practices are closed to the public.
