Tiger Defensive Lineman Breaks Arm

CLEMSON – Clemson senior defensive lineman Vontrell Jamison suffered a broken arm during Clemson’s practice today, according to sources. It is unclear how long Jamison will be out of action until another set of x-rays are taken.

Last season, Jamison had 27 tackles and 10 quarterback pressures.

Running back Duane Coleman also broke his foot in practice and will miss six to eight weeks. Receiver Michael Collins also could miss the opening game against Wake Forest with a leg injury. It was the first day of full pads and full contact for the Clemson football team.

"Last year the Tigers were very lucky when it came to injuries but that is not the case so far this year," said Tiger Source editor Mickey Plyler. "
The (Roy) Walker injury forced a bunch of position changes. The Duane Coleman injury really hurts the most because he is
the best back on campus and his third down ability will be missed. Kyle Browning will be a candidate for more third down situations.

"Jamison's injury will affect the defensive ends and tackles, but there is more depth at defensive end. I will be interested to see how long he is out. Collins looked good in the spring, and he is going to be counted on to have
a bigger role in this offense. It looked like a MASH unit out there today.
