Ticket Demand for Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl Exceeds Supply

by -

Clemson, SC-The Clemson ticket office has received orders for over

33,000 tickets to the 2004 Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl, associate AD and

ticket manager Van Hilderbrand said on Monday. The orders exceed

Clemson's current supply of 20,000 tickets.

"We are delighted with the tremendous interest in this game

from our fans," said Hilderbrand. "I haven't seen demand like this

since the 1982 Orange Bowl when we were playing Nebraska for the

National Championship.

"We have been working under the same bowl ticket application system

for several years. There had been just one year in the last 20 that

we had to refund bowl ticket orders, but we obviously will have to

issue refunds this year."

Hilderbrand said he will be working throughout the remainder

of the week to determine the levels of ticket priority that can be

accommodated by the 20,000 tickets available. Ticket applicants will

be notified no later than Tuesday, December 16.

Hilderbrand will be working with Clemson administrators and

Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl officials in an effort to accommodate as

many Clemson fans as possible for the January 2, 2004 contest with

sixth ranked Tennessee.
