GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Fourteen players who earned first or second team All-Conference honors this past season also secured spots on the 2003 Atlantic Coast Conference All-Academic football team as announced by Commissioner John Swofford. To be eligible, a player must have earned a 3.00 grade point average for the fall semester or have maintained a 3.00 cumulative average during his academic career.

The league’s past two ACC Players of the Year - NC State’s Philip Rivers (2003) and Virginia’s Matt Schaub (2002) - and P.J. Daniels, the ACC’s leading rusher this past season with 1,447 yards, are among the league’s academic honorees as are two players who earned All-America recognition this past season - Florida State linebacker Michael Boulware and Virginia placekicker Connor Hughes.
