Led by NC State’s Philip Rivers, six ACC quarterbacks are currently averaging
over 200 yards per game in total offense ... in addition, Virginia’s Matt Schaub
is averaging 254.4 yards per game in total offense, but needs one more game to
be ranked among ACC leaders ... the ACC record for most players averaging 200
yards or more in total offense is six in 1995, 1997 and 2001.
In his first three games coming back from a shoulder injury, Virginia QB Matt
Schaub has completed 121 of 168 passes (.720) for 1,207 yards and eight

In Maryland’s first three games of the season, senior QB Scott McBrien was last

punting and is bidding to become the first Deacon to lead the ACC in punting

Virginia’s Alvin Pearman tied an ACC single-game record with 16 receptions in
Saturday’s 19-14 loss to No. 7 Florida State ... Pearman had 134 yards on one
TD.

Virginia sophomore tight end Heath Miller set an ACC record for most touchdown
catches by a tight end when he registered his 13th touchdown reception in 21
career games in Saturday’s 19-14 loss to seventh-ranked Florida State ... is
currently second among the nation’s tight ends in receptions (39) and third in
yards (387).
