The Orange and White Game Complete Review

They started the day with field goals. Tony Lazarra (39) appears to be the odds on favorite. He hit two at 25 yards but missed a 35 yarder. Straup was good at 35 but missed another and one was blocked by Joe Don Reames(16) streaking around the left side. Punting was next. They should have worked there longer. Joel Gardner booted a couple of 35 yard shanks before turning over a nice 45 yard spiral. But that was the highpoint for punting, that one out of ten. So we head into the offseason with uncertainties at Punter and placekicker IMHO.

Now the Offense heads onto the field with Streeter(14) under center and Gary Johnson(22) at TB. A toss right to Johnson only nets 3 yards. GJ(22) runs a little high today and was slow on his cuts. Second play is a draw to #22 that gets only 2 yards. The Defense looks intense and obviously ready to play emotionally compared to the Off. at the start of the scrimmage. Third play, from the shotgun Streeter is pressured out of the pocket and throws it away. Fourth (but a new series) Streeter throws a strike to Mal Lawyer for 12 yards and (92) Terry Jolly comes back for a hard hit. Fifth, Streeter is pressured again in the pocket and throws an incomplete pass. Sixth, Streeter throws a short pass in the flats to #25 Wofford for a gain of only one as #28 Ardley wraps him up quickly. The next pass falls incomplete and it's 3rd and 14. The offense moves to a 5 wide set and Streeter delivers a 10 yard pass to Mal Lawyer. The Eighth play is a hand off to #22 GJ and the Defense is all over it for a 3 yard loss. 9th play 14 BS throws a nice pass to 25 Wofford for 16 yards who is tackled by Braxton Williams #48. The next play is a 2 yard run by #22 GJ who is met hard by 93 Terry Bryant. The 11th play Street is under heavy pressure and throws and incomplete pass. The 12th play finds the Offense 3rd and 8. Street throws a near perfect ball to 25 BW who can't hang on! That is the end of the first series with Streeter.

Dantzler(1)comes out on the field and it is good to see that (5) Javis Austin is back at TB. Dantzler's first play is a touch pass to 89 J. LeMay. There was Def. Holding and they take the yards. The second down was another Strike for 14 yards to 80 Matt Bailey. The 3rd was a hand off to JA (5) who nets 5 on a quick hard hitter. Fourth play WD (1) makes a bad read and throws an incomplete pass. The next play there is heavy pressure and WD is sacked as he tries to scramble out. 6th play WD throws one on the right hash to 81 Seth for 8 yards and 40 Hafley leaves his feet for a big hit. The play was called back. Penalty on the Offense. 36 Cuircui runs the next play for only one yard as 92 Terry Jolly puts a quick stop to his progress. 92 Jolly steps up again with a 6 yard sack. The ninth play WD is forced out of the pocket once more and manages to get back to the LOS. Once again WD is forced to scramble on the tenth play but wiggles out 7 yards before Joe Don makes the stop. 11th play WD finally has time to get a pass off and a beautiful pass it is until 80 Matt Bailey dropped it and negates a huge gain. 12th play WD rolls out and finds 89 JL for 12 yards. It was an excellent read by WD. Cuircui 36 is then halted for a 3 yard loss by 86 Nick Eason. 14th play, Nick Eason 86 puts the heat on WD and forces Woody to over throw. The 15th and last play of WD's first series ends in an incomplete pass in which he was pressured again. Note: it is clear that our 2nd string OL needs some PT but they did have their good moments.

Streeter returns for his second series. This was a horrible series for BS(14) and the offense. There was a couple of penalties on the O a
