Texas A&M vs. Clemson to be Nationally Televised

COLLEGE STATION, Texas- The Sept. 18 football game between Texas A&M and Clemson will be nationally televised by TBS with kickoff set for 6 p.m. central time.

“We’re extremely pleased to play a Top 20 opponent like Clemson on TBS,” Director of Athletics Bill Byrne said. “This will make our second nationally televised non-conference game (Sept. 2 vs. Utah on ESPN) and both of these contests will be challenging. They provide a good test heading into Big 12 play.”

Texas A&M holds a 2-0 advantage in football against the Clemson Tigers. The two schools played a home-and-home series in 1973 and 1974 with the Aggies posting 30-15 and 24-0 victories respectively.

“We’re pleased to have a showcase game against a preseason Top 20 team on television, and we appreciate TBS for selecting us,” Coach Dennis Franchione said. “This will be the first time on their network since we arrived at A&M. I like the 6 o’clock kickoffs because some of the heat has worn off, yet you finish the game by 9 or so and get home relatively early.”

The last contest for A&M on TBS was a 2002 game against Nebraska at Kyle Field. The Huskers posted a 38-31 come-from-behind victory.
