felt like he had ties to Clemson even before Saturday’s visit.

Once he walked away with an official offer, he felt even closer.

Voytik told TigerNet Monday afternoon that he is friends with former Clemson basketball player Terrence Oglesby, who is also from Cleveland and played for Cleveland’s rival – Bradley High School.

“I grew up around him and have known him for a long time,” Voytik said. “I know his brother really well, and we were teammates in middle school, so I always followed Terrence. I watched him play basketball at Clemson, so I felt like I already had ties to Clemson before I even arrived.”

Voytik said he arrived in Clemson Friday evening.

“We got into town Friday night, and went and ate at Outback and hung out that night and watched the Masters,” he said. “Then we went to the campus on Saturday, and took a tour of Vickery Hall. I loved what I saw of the campus. I was very impressed.”

The 6-1, 205-pounder was invited to the Orange and White Game by offensive coordinator Chad Morris, who wanted to make sure that Voytik passed the height test. Once Morris was assured that Voytik was over six feet, an offer wasn’t far behind.

“We got there, and we met with Coach [Dan] Brooks who I remember from when he coached at Tennessee,” he said. “We went in there and talked for a little bit, and then he walked us into Coach Morris’ office. It was just my coach and me and my dad, and we talked some football. He talked about how he liked my film and what they were looking for in a quarterback and then he offered.

“And then we went to Coach Swinney’s office, and he confirmed the offer while we were in there. I thought it was nice that I got to talk to Coach Swinney in his office and it was just us. I told him I was pleased to get that offer, and that it was great we got to do it one-on-one.”

Voytik said he liked what he saw out of Morris’ offense during the spring game.

“I liked his offense and the fact that it fits me,” he said. “You have the ability to throw it around a little, and then you have the ability to tuck it and run like Tajh did a few times. It was what I was hoping to see, so I was glad I got to see that.”

He also said the atmosphere in Death Valley made quite an impression.

“It was a great atmosphere, but I already knew that from people I had talked to,” he said. “It was definitely impressive to see all that purple and orange come out. You feel the tradition they have at Clemson with the rock and running down the hill. I was watching the video when I was walking down the hill and I got chills. You can feel the tradition and pride that go into the school.”

Mississippi State, Pitt, Vanderbilt, Tennessee, Arkansas State, Virginia, and Middle Tennessee State have all offered, with Vanderbilt, Pitt and Miss. St. currently holding an edge.
“It’s tough, because I don’t really have a clear leader,” he said. “I like those top three, but all for different reasons. I am going to sit down with my parents and coaches and go over the pros and cons of each school. But, picking up that offer from Clemson is definitely exciting and something to think about.”

As a junior, Voytik rushed 76 times for 439 yards and seven touchdowns and threw for 1,850 yards with 17 touchdowns and five interceptions. For his high school career Voytik is 256-468 for 3778 yards and 33 touchdowns.
