Swinney Announces Football Staff Changes |
Clemson, SC-- At his opening press conference as Clemson’s Interim Head Coach, Dabo Swinney announced a new alignment for his coaching staff. The defensive staff will remain in tact with the same responsibilities for each coach, while there will be considerable changes on the offensive side of the ball.
Swinney announced that offensive coordinator Rob Spence was no longer on the staff. Clemson’s new interim coach will serve as the offensive coordinator and call plays along with the help of Billy Napier. Napier, a former quarterback at Furman, had been the tight ends coach and now will coach the quarterbacks. Graduate assistant Jeff Scott has been promoted to a full time position and will coach the wide receivers under Swinney’s guidance. He is the son of Clemson offensive line coach Brad Scott. Graduate assistant Mike Dooley has also been promoted to fulltime status and will coach the tight ends. Swinney announced that Napier and Jeff Scott would be in the press box on game day from the offensive side. Clemson Coaching Staff Assignments
