had a career high 111 yards rushing on 16 carries to help the Buffalo Bills to a 40-14 over the Denver Broncos on Saturday afternoon.

Spiller’s performance was the first 100-yard rushing game by a former Clemson player in an NFL game since Jan. 7, 2002 when Terry Allen had 23 rushes for 133 yards for the Baltimore Ravens against the Minnesota Vikings. That was the final game of Allen’s career.

Spiller still has many more to play. The second-year pro who was a first-round draft pick of the Bills after he was named a unanimous first-team All-American at Clemson in 2009, went over the 500-yard rushing mark for the season with his performance on Saturday. He now has 94 carries for 501 yards and four touchdowns rushing, and has added 35 receptions for 229 yards and a touchdown.

Spiller made his fifth straight start on Saturday and has 73 carries for 386 yards since he moved to first team.

Saturday he had 16 carries for 111 yards and a touchdown, and added two receptions for 27 yards, giving him 138 yards from scrimmage. The previous week in a loss to the Miami Dolphins, Spiller had 12-91 rushing and a career high nine receptions for a career high 76 reception yards. That gave him a career high 167 yards from scrimmage in that contest. Spiller now has 305 yards from scrimmage and four touchdowns over the last two games.
