Source says Boyd expected to practice Tuesday |
CLEMSON - TigerNet spoke with a source close to Clemson quarterback
Tajh BoydTajh Boyd Boyd was injured early in the third quarter of Clemson’s 36-14 Saturday victory over Boston College. He was hit by Eagle defensive end Max Holloway, and replays showed Boyd’s right leg twist as he fell to the turf. Boyd tried to get back up, but had to be helped off the field. The source said that the injury occurred not when the leg twisted, but that he took a shot to his hip from Boston College player's helmet, and that has caused the discomfort and swelling. He later was taken to the locker room in a golf cart with what was later announced as a hip injury. X-Rays in the locker room were negative, and an MRI later at Oconee Medical also showed no structural damage. The source said that Boyd is not in much pain and was actually moving around on his own Sunday without the aid of crutches.
