Scott Confirms Discussions with Spurrier

CLEMSON-- Clemson offensive line coach Brad Scott confirmed Thursday afternoon earlier reports that USC head coach Steve Spurrier approached him about a job with the Gamecocks.

“I did have a discussion with Coach Spurrier about a position on the USC coaching staff,” said Scott. “But I am happy at Clemson and will be staying on Coach Bowden’s staff.

I will not discuss the situation any further.”

Earlier on Thursday, Spurrier confirmed to media in Columbia that he had approached both Scott and Clemson running back coach Burton Burns about joining the Gamecocks.
