The Clemson coaching staff picked up another defensive line prospect when Rock Hill (Northwestern) defensive end Roderick Byers switched from Oregon to Clemson Wednesday morning, TigerNet has learned.

Byers (6-4, 262) is a 3-star prospect who had committed to the University of Oregon on January 26th, and had confirmed his commitment to the Ducks as late as Tuesday evening. However, TigerNet learned from a source close to the situation that the Tigers offered Tuesday evening and Byers elected to stay closer to home.

Byers did admit following his Oregon commitment that if Clemson came calling, he would have to reconsider. He is scheduled to make his announcement at his high school today at noon.
