Clemson shocked most of the college football world Thursday night with its 37-17 dismantling of Oklahoma in the Orange Bowl, but the win came as no surprise to future Tigers.

TigerNet caught up with several of Clemson’s commits and top prospects Friday to gauge their reaction to the Tigers first ever win in the College Football Playoff.

Tavien Feaster, 5-star 2016 running back commit, Spartanburg (SC)

“It was another amazing win. They have been very humble coming into it all. They play as a team and never give up when things aren’t going their way. I think they deserve everything that they’ve gotten so far. I hope they win it all.”

J.C. Chalk, 4-star 2016 tight end commit, Argyle (TX)

“It’s awesome. It makes me jealous that I’m not a year older and already at Clemson.”

Xavier Kelly, 4-star 2016 defensive end commit, Wichita (KS) East

“I feel like they have some great players and coaches that worked very hard this year. All that hard work is coming together for an amazing season. I’m stoked and I can’t wait to get on campus.”

Tremayne Anchrum, 3-star 2016 offensive line commit, Powder Springs (GA) McEachern

“I am proud of the guys. They really went out there and earned that victory. It was a battle but the cream always rises to the top.”

Caesar Ruiz, 4-star 2017 offensive line prospect, Bradenton (FL) IMG Academy

“They are a great team. I think they’ll take it al the way.”

Sean Pollard, 4-star 2016 offensive line commit, Southern Pines (NC) Pinecrest

“We go into every week being the underdog and we’re still not getting any respect. Maybe now people will respect us. We are 14-0 for a reason.”

Diondre Overton, 4-star 2016 wide receiver prospect, Greensboro (NC) Page

“I love the great team win. I’m excited they get to advance to the Natty. I hope they win it all.”

Grant Walker, 2017 athlete prospect, Decatur (GA)

“The vibe I’ve gotten from Coach Swinney since he was hired was that he was trying to build a dynasty at Clemson. That time has finally come and I hope the players can keep their heads on straight through this whole process so they can get what they deserve. I was born a Clemson fan so I’ve stuck with them through think and thin, and hopefully one day I can be a part of this dynasty Coach Swinney has built, as well.”

Baylon Spector, 3-star 2017 safety commit, Calhoun (GA)

“I thought it was a great win, and I love that we prove people wrong every week. On to the next one, though. I think it will be a great experience, and I hope we can go out there and play our best game of the year.”

Noah DeHond, 4-star 2017 offensive line commit, Highstown (NJ) The Peddie School

“I’m so excited. It’s awesome to see them have this amount of success but I’m not surprised. I’m going to be at the game with a friend, too, so that makes me happy that I get to see them play again.”

Cornell Powell, 4-star 2016 wide receiver commit, Greenville (NC) Rose

“I totally expected nothing less. It just shows why they are number one.”

Chase Brice, 4-star 2017 quarterback commit, Loganville (GA) Grayson

“I thought it was awesome. I really enjoyed watching the game. They played so hard and so physical. It was obvious who wanted that game more and they deserve it. I think they will win against Bama. It won’t be easy at all, but if anybody can beat them it’s Clemson….besides Ole Miss. I was also so proud of Grayson alum Ryan Carter and Wayne Gallman. They played really good. I know Coach Conn was really proud of them.”

Tre Lamar, 4-star 2016 linebacker commit, Roswell (GA)

“I think it’s great and it shows how good this team is. It’s just the beginning of what Clemson can do.”

Nyles Pinckney, 4-star 2016 defensive tackle commit, Seabrook (SC) Whale Branch

“This is a great win for Clemson. Coach Swinney has worked his way to get to this point and it’s finally paying off.”

Jamie Skalski, 3-star 2016 linebacker commit, Newnan (GA) Northgate

“I think it’s great. That group is setting the bar high for future Tigers and I can’t wait to help keep the legacy going.”
