Recruits react to Clemson's big win over the Gamecocks |
Saturday’s 35-17 win over South Carolina cemented the legacy that the 34 seniors will leave behind, re-energized a restless fan base and caught the attention of some of the nation’s top recruits.
The Clemson coaching staff hosted several of the 2015 commits as well as many 2016 uncommitted prospects Saturday afternoon and the win showed everyone in attendance that every player is willing to give it his all to get a win – even if it means playing with a torn ACL. Deshaun Watson did just that and caught the attention of every recruit in attendance, especially one four-star defensive end. “I was pumped about how our defense played,” Thomasville (GA) Thomas County defensive end and Clemson commit
Austin Bryant Austin Bryant Some recruits were able to see the game in person, while others watched from home but they all had something to say about the Tigers ‘dominating performance over the Gamecocks. *
Sean Pollard Sean Pollard “Well, the atmosphere is hard to explain. They’re extremely loud and don’t stop cheering and crazy. It’s just amazing. Clemson went out and balled out. They were hitting on all cylinders and went out there and stopped South Carolina. Then there’s the family atmosphere with the fans coming up to me and telling me to come to there and shaking my hand telling me how great the school is.”
Tanner Muse Tanner Muse “It was a great game and was a complete game on both ends of the ball. It was great getting the trophy back home.”

Gage Cervenka Gage Cervenka “I thought it was a big win for the program. I’m glad we got the monkey off our back. It’s a great time being a Tiger now and in the future. I can’t wait to be able to play with the guys next year and I wish I could have been able to play with the seniors this year. They are a great group of guys and they deserve the win. I just can’t wait to be a Tiger.”
Shadell Bell Shadell Bell “It was a great win as a team. They played four quarters of football and got back to Clemson football. You could tell they wanted that win! I'm really happy with the outcome! Clemson football plays with heart every week. They dominated South Carolina in every aspect of the game.
