Union High School lineman Rashaad Jackson took his official visit to Clemson this past weekend but did not commit to the Tigers. Fellow Union alumnus Kyle Browning was his player host.

“It was close to home,” said Jackson. “It was very nice. It was a good experience. The people were great.”

Jackson and the Tigers are discussing the possibility of signing him and then placing him in a junior college. Jackson is not sure if he would like to do that or go to a division two school.

“I just want to go where I feel the most comfortable,” said Jackson.

He has visits set to North Carolina A&T on January 24th and Winston Salem St on the 31st.

Clemson assistant coach David Blackwell is recruiting Jackson for the Tigers who like him on the defensive line.

“They are recruiting me at defensive tackle. They like my quickness, and think I can be a big factor on the defensive line… I am a team leader that has great confidence in what I do and that’s play defense.”

Jackson was the selected to the Shrine Bowl All-Star game this year were he got to match his talents against the best players in the Carolinas.

“It was great experience for me. There were a lot of great athletes that had as much talented as I had. Going against some of the best in South Carolina and North Carolina I did fairly well for myself. I felt I could have done better than what I did but mostly I just had a great time.”

Jackson looks to have his final decision on college by the end of January.
