Recruiting: USC Commitment Will Not Rule Out the Tigers |
Matt Raysor Defensive tackle Bamberg-Ehrardt High School (Bamberg, SC) 6'4", 292 lbs., 4.7 Selected to 2003 Shrine Bowl Game Matt Raysor had 126 tackles, eight sacks, and three fumble recoveries for Bamberg-Ehrardt, which finished with an 8-4 record and advanced to the second round of the 2-A state playoffs before being eliminated by Central. Raysor made a verbal commitment to South Carolina early in the season, and despite the Gamecocks' disappointing season and the house cleaning that Lou Holtz did after the loss to Clemson, says that his commitment is still pretty solid. There is a chance, however, that his choice could change. "The coach that I did the most talking to is stll there, so them firing the coaches that they did really didn't change my mind," Raysor said. "I am probably going to stick with South Carolina, but I won't know for sure until after my official visit to Clemson on January 9. Anything could happen after that visit." If Raysor does change his mind and chooses Clemson, a big factor could be what he witnessed when he attended the contest between the Tigers and the Gamecocks. "I am not sure what happened that night," Raysor said. "Clemson played a great game, and it looked like South Carolina forgot how to play football. They looked pitiful." Raysor also was on hand for the Clemson - Florida State game. Clemson assistant Ron West is recruiting Raysor for the Tigers.
