Recruiting: Timmons Taking a Second Look at Clemson |
Lawrence Timmons Linebacker Wilson High School 6'2", 225 lbs A standout who can not only make a impact on either side of the ball but bench presses over 330 pounds as well, Lawrence Timmons has been a prospect who many Division I schools have been after for the last several months. In fact, some people consider Timmons to be the number one prospect in the state of South Carolina this year. The recruiting process has taken its toll on Timmons, and he has said that he is looking forward to it coming to an end. Before he makes that final choice though, Timmons has decided to throw another school into the list he is strongly considering. Florida, Florida State, Tennessee, North Carolina, and Maryland have all been in consideration, but Timmons recently added Clemson. "I haven't set up a date to visit Clemson and I am still looking at all of those other schools, but I have done some thinking about where I'd like to go if I stayed in state," Timmons said. "I think just about all the Clemson coaches have called or visited me, and I just became interested in them." Timmons visited Florida State last weekend and plans on visiting Florida on January 17th and Tennessee on January 24th. Although Timmons, who says he has qualified academically, originally planned to make his choice at the end month, he now says that the decision could come much sooner. Clemson assistant Dabo Swinney is recruiting Timmons for the Tigers.
