Recruiting: Tigers Not Out of Picture for Sinclair Cannon

Sinclair Cannon

Greer, SC (Greer HS)

6'3", 193 lbs.

With the Yellow Jackets losing to arch rival Byrnes in the second game of the
season, Greer decided to move Sinclair Cannon from wide receiver/defensive
back to quarterback. Although the Yellow Jackets lost the game, Cannon
made an immediate impact, and has been under center ever since.

With Cannon running the show, Greer won the region title, and will play
Greenville in the third round of the 3-A state playoffs this Friday. Cannon's
numbers have been nothing short of incredible this season. The senior
has scored 21 touchdowns, has passed for over 1,400 yards, and has
rushed for over 1,200 yards.

Recently, Cannon verbally committed to the orange and white, but it
wasn't at the school that Tigers fan would like to see.

"I committed to Tennessee because it felt like the right place for me,"
Cannon said.

Although his interest is currently with the Volunteers, Cannon said that
Clemson (TBA), Pittsburgh (11/29), and Maryland (1/10) aren't totally out of the picture yet. The
Tigers may have stayed in the picture with their recent win over Florida
State, a game that Cannon attended.

"I am not sure what could change my mind, but that was a good win for
Clemson and I thought they had a great game plan," Cannon said.

Cannon's former teammate, Sergio Gilliam, is a freshman at Clemson,
but Sinclair said that he hasn't felt any added pressure from Gilliam.

"He has never tried to push me to come to Clemson," Cannon said.
"He just said to make the best choice for me."

Clemson assistant David Blackwell is recruiting Cannon for the Tigers.
