James Thompson Offensive lineman Sumter High School 6'5", 303lbs. James Thompson had to follow his heart. After making visits to South Carolina and Clemson, Thompson knew he would have to make a very tough decision. "I really like both schools," Thomspson said. "My visits went great, both have great programs and graduation rates, and both told me that I would have the chance to play as a freshman." Realizing it wouldn't be possible to choose both, Thompson chose the Gamecocks, a decision he said will not change. "I chose South Carolina for two main reasons," Thompson said. "I felt like I knew the coaches and players better, and the school is only 45 minutes away from home." "My choice was nothing against Clemson. I just went with the school I thought was best for me."
