Recruiting: Tigers Looking at Kicker from Peach State

Good news and bad news for the Tigers on Thursday night. The good news is the Tigers received their tenth commitment from DE Shaun Branuscome (6-6, 240, 4.8) from Dublin, VA (Pulaski Co HS). The bad was highly prized quarterback Jordan Steffy who visited Clemson for the Florida State game committed to Maryland. More info later today.

Kyle Belcher

Kicker

Deerfield Windsor High School (Albany, GA)

6'4", 200 lbs.

Kyle Belcher connected on ten of his 18 field goals this season for

Deerfield Windsor, which won the GISA AAA title last season, and

advanced to the Final Four this year. He had a long of 57 yards, and

kicked two game-winning field goals; one with three seconds left in

regulation, and the other with six seconds left. He made 33 of 36 extra

points, and had a punting average of 40.2 yards with a long of 60 yards.

Currently, Belcher is being recruited by Clemson, Georgia, Georgia

Tech, Louisville, West Georgia, Wofford, and Charleston Southern. Of the

group, West Georgia is the only school to offer.

"I am trying to keep an open mind as far as choosing the place I want to

go," Belcher said. "I want to find a place where I can be happy for five

years."

If Clemson continues to show interest, Belcher feels he could definitely

be happy wearing the orange and white next season.

"I visited Clemson for the Georgia and Virginia games, and just loved

it," Belcher said. "It was a great atmosphere, and I wouldn't mind coming

to Clemson, by any means."

Belcher will visit Georgia on January 23, and is working on setting up

visits with Georgia Tech, Louisville, and Wofford.

Coach Jack Hines is recruiting Belcher for the Tigers.
