Recruiting: Tigers Have Sights Set on Teammates from Alabama |
Jake Wingo Linebacker Hillcrest High School (Tuscaloosa, AL) 6'0", 200 lbs. Jake Wingo finished the season with 90 tackles and two interceptions for the Hillcrest Patriots, which finished with a 10-3 record and advanced to the third round of the Alabama state playoffs. The teammate of Clemson prospect Travis Robinson, Wingo has narrowed his list of schools down to Clemson and Alabama. Although Robinson is currently leaning towards Alabama, Wingo isn't sure he will follow. "Clemson has made an offer," Wingo said. "Alabama hasn't made one yet, and I am not really sure if they will." Wingo attended the Clemson-Florida State game, and came away very impressed with the Tigers. "It was a really good expeience," Wingo said. "I knew that Clemson had a good team, and could have a game like that. I was very happy for them." Wingo will visit Clemson on January 9, and will visit Alabama on January 30. Robinson will also visit the Tigers on January 9. "Coach Swinney has been by to see me, and Coach Bowden may come to visit next week," Wingo said. "I might have my mind made up after making my Clemson visit."
