CLEMSON RECRUITING

Recruiting: Swinney Lands Speedster from Alabama

by -

Adrian Kindred

Safety

Opelika High School (Opelika, Al)

6'2", 198 lbs, 4.3

Adrian Kindred was one of several young men who made an official

visit to Clemson over the weekend. And just like many other recruits, the

senior safety who helped the Opelika Bulldogs win 12 of 13 games

came away from his visit knowing where he wanted to play college

football.

"I committed to Clemson over the weekend," Kindred said. "I really

liked the atmopshere. My host was Travis Pugh, and he and the other

guys on the team really made me feel like I fit. It felt like home to me."

Kindred currently has no other official visits lined up, and doesn't plan

on setting any others up. Kindred selected the Tigers' offer over Louisville

and Southern Miss. He was also drawing some interest from Alabama and Georgia.

Kindred says he has 4.3 speed and that will make him a weapon at whatever position he plays,

but the speedster has been told that he will play either free safety or rover. Kindred

is also an outstanding basketball player averaging 12 points, six rebounds and three assists per game

as a junior guard.

Kindred has already qualified academically.

Clemson assistant Dabo Swinney is recruiting Kindred for the Tigers.
