Alex Pearson Linebacker Greenville, SC (Greenville HS) 6-2, 240, 4.7 Clemson added their second commitment from local Greenville high school this weekend when linebacker Alex Pearson announced his commitment after an official visit to Clemson. “Basically the coaches have known and I have known that I was coming to Clemson,” said Pearson. “It was just a matter of making it public. I told Coach Blackwell that is what I wanted. I just decided the other night to tell the reporters that were calling me I was going to commit. The 6-foot-2, 240 pound linebacker was already very familiar with the Tigers before his visit to Clemson this weekend where current Clemson center Tommy Sharpe was his player host.

“It was a great weekend. We ate plenty of food and were just treated like kings the whole. It was just a real good experience. I love everything about it. I have grown up a Clemson fan. It’s always been kind of my dream since I started playing football. It’s just a great place and close by.” Clemson is looking at Pearson as an inside linebacker. “My forte is I’m more of a run stopper. I’m not the kind of guy that will run around blocks. I like to take them head on.” Pearson, who says he will be fully qualified academically, selected the Tigers over Kentucky and South Carolina. Tennessee had also shown some interest in his services. Clemson assistant David Blackwell recruited Pearson for the Tigers. Clemson Commitments 1. DB Brandon Croley (6-0, 180, 4.5) Jacksonville, FL 2.
