When Maryland had to cancel Greer athlete Sinclair Cannon’s official visit over the weekend because Terrapin coach Ralph Friedgen was at the Hula Bowl it was prefect timing for the Tigers. Clemson got Cannon to come to Tiger Town on an unofficial visit during Clemson’s huge recruiting weekend.

The 6-3, 190-pound athelete said he had a good time at Clemson with his former teammate, Sergio Gilliam, a freshman at Clemson, but still considers himself a Tennessee commitment.

“I’m committed but open to looking at other schools,” said Cannon. “I like how their (Tennessee) team gets along. It reminds me a lot of my high school.”

Cannon will visit Tennessee on January 17th and will make his official visit to Clemson on January 24th. He will also reschedule the Maryland visit.

Cannon is looking to play either quarterback or wide receiver on the next level. He was selected to the Shrine Bowl after scoring 21 touchdowns, passing for over 1,400 yards, and rushing for over 1,200 yards in his senior campaign.

Clemson assistant David Blackwell is recruiting Cannon for the Tigers.
