Albert Ashcraft

Running back

Monroe High School (Monroe, NC)

6'3", 197 lbs., 4.5

When Albert Ashcraft was a junior, he played in a system in which
seniors got the most attention, regardless of the skill of the other players
at that position. Despite that, Ashcraft tallied an astounding 1,013 yards
on just 109 carries, scoring 23 touchdowns.

This season, Ashcraft was the team's featured back, and once again
showed what he could do. Although Monroe's season ended in the first
round of the North Carolina state playoffs, Ashcraft finished the season
with over 1,500 yards, scoring 21 touchdowns.

South Carolina, East Carolina, North Carolina, and Wake Forest are
among the schools which have made offers to Ashcraft. And although he
won't make his official announcement on his college choice until
December 6, Ashcraft is certain of one thing about next season. He plans
on wearing orange.

"It's down to Clemson and Tennessee," Ashcraft said. "I really liked the
coaching staffs at both schools, and that is why I have it down to those two
schools."

Although Ashcraft hasn't made a visit to Clemson, he has been
impressed with what he has seen out of the Tigers over the last three
weeks.

"I have been loving the way Clemson has been playing," Ashcraft said.
"Right now, they are a very good team."

Clemson assistant Mike O'Cain is recruiting Ashcraft for the Tigers.
