Rashaad Jackson Hopes to Be a Tiger This Fall |
Rashaad Jackson Defensive lineman Union High School 6'4", 255 pounds Rashaad Jackson showed he was a Division I prospect with his play on the football field during his career with the Union Yellow Jackets. Now the Clemson signee is hoping that his work off the field will be good enough to make him a Tiger. "I haven't qualified yet because of my S.A.T. scores," Jackson said. "I will take the test once more in June, but I will probably end up going to Southwest Mississippi Junior College." Although he knows there is a chance he may have to sit out a year before going to Clemson, Jackson still has hope that he will suit up for the Tigers this fall. "I have been very active in after school programs, and have been cutting back on the fast foods," Jackson said. "I feel like I have a good chance to pass the test and will go into it with a positive attitude. If I do pass, I will be very excited. I think I will fit in very well, and it would be an honor to play for Coach Bowden." "I think we have a good chance to be in the top ten and make a BCS game. I hope to be a part of that, but if I am not, I wish them the best." When it came to choosing a college to continue his football career, Jackson could have gone one of two ways. He could have gone to a school like North Carolina A & T or South Carolina State, places where he could have had a chance to start and make an immediate impact. Or, he could have chosen a place that felt like home. Jackson chose the latter by signing with Clemson, making the decision on the eve of National Signing Day. "It's a great school and I just really felt like I belonged there," Jackson said. "Not only because it was closer to home than the other two, but because I know a lot of people there."
