by -

CLEMSON – Last week Clemson received its first commitment for 2004 from a high school prospect from offensive lineman Bobby Hutchinson (6-5, 270) of Greenville, Fl. Q&A Transcript What is your current height, weight, and bench press? 6-5, 270, and 315 pounds Who is recruiting you? Syracuse, Florida, Florida State, Miami, and Michigan. Who has offered? Syracuse has offered. Why commit now? When I was a boy growing up it’s been a childhood dream to play there. I like the atmosphere there. What do you like about Clemson? Just the school and the coaches. The whole program itself. How did Clemson find out about you? They just came to practice over spring practice. Coach Swinney just came out there. I hadn’t filled out a questionnaire or talked to anyone, but they loved me, and Coach sent me a game film and decided to offer me. What coaches have you talked to at Clemson? I have talked to Coach Swinney, Coach West and Coach Bowden. Have you visited Clemson? Not yet. The weekend of July 19 I’m going on an unofficial visit. Any camps this summer? Just last weekend got back from Central Flordia, and I’m scheduled to go to FCA camp in Black Mountain. Where does Clemson see you fitting in? Playing center. Coach West said that with me being athletic as I am that I could play anywhere on the line, but that they were going to try to keep me at center. Did it take much on Clemson’s part to get you to commit? I was just waiting on an offer really. I had already done a lot of research on them. I plan on majoring in sports medicine. Do you play any other sports? Basketball and track. What are your strengths? My strengths are my quickness for my size, and my ability to mess up once but not mess up the same way. The first mistake is corrected What do you need to work on? Pass blocking. Sitting back and waiting on them to come to me. When did you start playing football? I started playing football in second grade. How did your team do last year? Last year we were 8-0 in regular season. Then we lost in third round of the playoffs. Our season record was 10-1.
