Christian Capote - Offensive Lineman - Miami, FL (Killian HS)

Tell us about your commitment to the Tigers and how you came to that decision?

”I really fell in love with the place when I got there.  It felt like the right place. I really like the team. I like the coaches. I really felt like I belong there.”

What are your current height and weight and weight room numbers?

6-5, 293, 4.9 bench 350lbs, squat 490lbs

Is everything ok with your academics?

Yeah.  I have a 3.6 GPA.

Who recruited you for the Tigers?

Coach West.

What position are the Tigers talking to you about?

Left tackle most likely.

What are your strengths as an offensive lineman?

I run block and pass block both pretty good.  This season I had about 117 pancakes and didn’t allow any sacks.  I graded out at 93%.

How did your high school team do this year?

We went 11-1.

What has the coaching staff told you will need to do to get some playing time next year?

Probably get stronger and start going up against older experienced guys to gain experience myself..

Who was your player host on your visit to Clemson?

Chip Myrick.

What official visits did you take?

I only took three – Rutgers, Colorado State and Clemson.

Who did you have offers from?

West Virginia, NC State, Florida, Missouri, Clemson, Florida State, Rutgers, Colorado State and Boston College.

What are some things that stood out on your Clemson visit?

I really liked how together everyone was there.  They are like a family. I really just liked the atmosphere there.

How early do you think you can contribute?

I think I could help out maybe freshman year.

Do you play any other sports?

Baseball and track.

What are you going to do to get ready to report?

Definitely get stronger and run like a maniac everyday.

Any Clemson coaches scheduled to visit you?  Tommy Bowden?

Yeah they will be at my house on Thursday. Tommy Bowden will be there too.

Are other schools still making a push for you? Will you take any more visits?

Yes they are. No I’m not going to take any more visits.
