CLEMSON – Monday’s morning practice featured a Daniel scrum, rugby-style kicks and plenty of info to pass along.

The Clemson football team practiced early this morning, the sixth practice overall and the second in full pads, the first of two practices on Monday.

The first period started with a scaled-up version of the PAW drill, with three offensive players blocking for a running back and going against three defensive players. It started with Daniel High School products Shaq LawsonShaq Lawson

*A strange-looking camera has been seen at practice this week, and it turns out to be a virtual reality tool used to help the players. The camera can be set up by the quarterback and captures what happens in every direction.

The system is called STRIVR, an immersive training tool. I was told that quarterback Deshaun WatsonDeshaun Watson

can go in after practice, put on the headset, and see everything he saw during practice and take his mental reps again. Coaches can also look left to right and see hand placement, footwork, etc. I plan to ask the coaches about the system and have more on it later.
