CLEMSON RECRUITING

New Jersey Defensive Lineman Keeping his Options Open

by -

Shukree Barfield

Defensive end/Defensive lineman

Camden High School (Sicklerville, NJ)

6'4", 290 lbs, 4.8

Bench presses 305 lbs.

Shukree Barfield has two interceptions, one of which was returned for a touchdown,

ten tackles, and two sacks on defense, and five pancake blocks on offense

for Camden (2-1). He is being recruited by and has received offers from

Clemson, Rutgers, Penn State, Tulane, and Tennessee. Barfield was once reported as a

Clemson commitment by a northeast newspaper, but Barfield later said

the report was false.

"I am trying to keep my options as open as possible, so I am really not

leaning towards any school," Barfield said. "The coaches at Clemson

seem like good people who treat their players fairly. From what I have

seen of them on t.v., they have a lot of speed and good players."

Barfield is being recruited as a defensive tackle and defensive end, and will

make a visit to Clemson in December.
