Woulard is a 4-star, Elite 11 quarterback out of Winter Park (FL) who ranks as the best quarterback prospect out of the state of Florida this season by ESPN, and comes in at No. 143 in ESPN’s Top 150. Woulard has offers from 14 schools, and was able to add Clemson to the list this week.

The 6-4, 205-pounder is a fan of Clemson, according to his father, and the Tigers were able to offer after a scholarship opened up when backup quarterback Morgan Roberts announced he was transferring last week.

“He has been a big fan of Clemson for a long time,” Michael Woulard told TigerNet Monday afternoon. “He is excited about coming up there for a visit. It’s not too far away – I used to drive to Columbia every day so I am familiar with the area. There really isn’t much I can say – I am just excited he got the opportunity.”

Woulard said the family wasn’t surprised to receive the offer from Clemson.

“Not really. We have been in contact with the coaches for months now,” he said. “They were solid at the quarterback position, and when the opportunity presented itself, they gave us a call. There was mutual interest there, and when a spot opened up it set the ball in motion. We had stayed in contact in case a door opened, and it opened.”

Woulard is listed as a dual-threat quarterback, but his father says he is more of a pocket passer who can make plays with his legs, and proved it when he was voted as the MVP of the Elite 11 Camp this past July.

“He went out to Redondo Beach and out-performed all of the top pocket passers,” he said. “His emphasis is on the pass. He didn’t get to show what he could do passing the football – he didn’t have the protection and he didn’t have the receivers to really get vertical. He will tear it up somewhere with his legs, and he will make the defense respect his legs.”

[committed to Southern Cal] and Christian Hackenberg [committed to Penn St.] to win the Elite 11 honors, and Elite 11 head coach Trent Dilfer told ESPN that Woulard makes greatness look easy.

"It was hard not to go with Max or Hack," Dilfer told ESPN. "Those two were unbelievable. But I think there was a hair separation. I think it came down to this: Greatness is making the highly difficult look very easy. That's what Asiantii did. They did the same stuff; he made it look easier."
