Keys to Texas A&M Game

1. Don't Get Buried Early

Playing in a hostile environment is difficult anytime you hit the road, but Clemson's players will see and hear things they've never witnessed before at Kyle Field. The best course of action would be to strike early on both sides of the ball and try to get the crowd out of the game. If that doesn't happen, keeping composure and weathering the early storm will be crucial. Don't get buried early and everything should be okay.

2. Run the Ball...Again

Clemson rushed for 199 yards against Georgia Tech last week and turned in the two longest runs of Tommy Bowden's coaching era. The ability to move the ball on the ground helped the Tigers be in position to win the game, even though events later conspired to ensure that didn't happen. As badly as he wants to play and as much as fans and teammates alike want to see him, early success by the other running backs could mean one more week of rest for Duane Coleman and his injured foot. All things considered, that wouldn't be all bad.

3. Killer Instinct...Again

We said it here in this space last week and will continue to say it until it happens. When you've got an opponent down, keep them down. Allowing Georgia Tech to rally from a 10-point deficit in the final 3:18 is inexcusable. We're never one to advocate running up the score, but this week it would be wise not to take any chances. If you can score, score. Don't leave any room for another collapse.
