Freshman Defensive Tackle Reinstated |
Clemson, SC-Clemson Head Coach Tommy Bowden said Sunday that red-shirt freshman defensive tackle Chris McDuffie would be reinstated for Saturday's game with Georgia Tech. McDuffie had been suspended for the opening game with Wake Forest after he was arrested this past July.
"After reviewing the facts with Coach (Tommy) Bowden, and athletic department administrators, and following the lead of the University judicial system and local authorities, we strongly believe there are mitigating circumstances in this case," said Clemson Athletic Director Terry Don Phillips. "Chris was admitted to pretrial intervention and when he completes the program his record will be expunged of any charges " Clemson vs. Georgia Tech Game Sold Out Clemson, SC-The Clemson vs. Georgia Tech game on Saturday, September 11 at Clemson Memorial Stadium is a sell out. The announcement was made by Assistant Athletic Director and Ticket Manager Bobby Skelton. Clemson Memorial Stadium has a capacity of 81,473. Clemson has five home games remaining and two are already sold out, the Tech game on Saturday and the South Carolina game on November 20. Tickets remain for the Homecoming game with Utah State on October 16, the Maryland game on October 23 and the NC State game on October 30. Tickets are priced at $32 apiece for those games. The Clemson vs. Wake Forest game this past Saturday drew 79,500, including 750 residents from the state of Florida and South Georgia who left their states to avoid Hurricane Frances. The crowd at Saturday's game was the second highest ever to watch a Clemson vs. Wake Forest game in Death Valley. The only game that had a larger attendance in the series took place in 2002 when 81,008 attended a homecoming encounter between the two schools.
