. In the half, Boyd was 16-of-24 for 171 yards and two scores.

Also, after failing to convert any of their first three third downs, Clemson ended the half converting six consecutive third downs and ended the half at 6-for-9 on third down.

What went wrong: The defense gave up way too many yards and points as Auburn raced out to a 21-7 lead. Wrong angles, penalties and missed tackles were again the culprit as Auburn racked up 285 yards of total offense.

Auburn QB Barrett Trotter had too much time to throw and RB Michael Dyer had wide open lanes to run through.

Turning Point of the Half: Trailing 21-7 and in danger of being run out of Death Valley, Clemson responded with an 81-yard drive that ended when Boyd hit Allen in the back of the end zone to make it 21-14. The Clemson defense held on Auburn’s next drive, and Boyd again got hot and Clemson tied the score at 21 on a two-yard plunge by Andre EllingtonAndre Ellington
