CLEMSON -- Jimmy Hudson, a 6-foot, 3-inch, 175-pound combo guard from Eustis High School in Eustis, FL is the first 2003 commitment
for the Clemson basketball team.

Last season, Hudson averaged 14 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 3.4 assists per game while hitting 47 percent of his 3-pointers and 80 percent from the free throw line. He had a game high of 37 points and nailed seven three pointers in one contest. As a sophomore, Hudson led the Panthers to a 28-5 record and a spot in the Elite Eight of the Florida Class 3A state tournament. Last season, Hudson again led his team to the Elite Eight with a record of 18-15.

According to his high school coach, Vann Brackin, Hudson is a very unselfish player and has played along side several good players (ex.Junior PF Wesley Green-D1 prospect) since joining the team as a freshman. His stats may not be gaudy, but he has maintained his 14 points per game average throughout his high school career.

“In one of his best games for me, he (Hudson) had only 11 points, but he held the opposing team's best player to one field goal," said Brackin.

Hudson has been Eustis High's go-to guy, even as a freshman and Brackin describes Hudson as "a very coachable player and an outstanding young man...this kid will get better as he matures physically. A real steal for the Tigers."

Hudson also had interest from South Florida, Florida State, West Virginia, UNC Wilmington, College of Charleston and South Alabama.
