Final Clemson Football Ticket Figures

by -

Clemson, SC-Clemson averaged over 80,000 fans for its 2001 home
football games, Ticket Manager Van Hilderbrand announced Wednesday.
It marked just the second time in history that Clemson exceeded the
80,000 per game mark.

Clemson had a total paid attendance of 480,911 for its six
home games in 2001, an average of 80,152 per game. The NCAA is
compiling its rankings this week and should announce the national
attendance rankings before Christmas. Clemson averaged 78,378 last
year and ranked 15th in the nation on a per game basis.

Clemson had three crowds of at least 80,000 last year,
including two that ranked in the top five in school history. A total
of 85,036 attended the Florida State game and that figure now ranks
fourth best in Clemson history. It is followed by the 84,869 who
attended the North Carolina game on October 20th.

Clemson sold 57,506 season tickets this year, second highest
figure in school history. The per game average of 80,152 is exceeded
only the average of 81,750 for the 1988 season, a year in which
Clemson played both South Carolina and Florida State at home.

Clemson has now had four of the top five single game
attendance figures and three of the top seven single season averages
under current head coach Tommy Bowden.
