Notes from the press conference

- Only had 15 spots available due to C.J. Spiller and Ricky Sapp returning to school along with two greyshirts that were promised scholarships this year (Terrence Ashe and Spencer Benton).

- WR coach Jeff Scott will take over the recruiting coordinator position from Billy Napier since Napier has been named offensive coordinator.

- The staff could have signed some prospects, but they made a decision to save the 3 extra scholarships for next year when they will have a whole year to recruit.

- As of today the Tigers will have 17 available scholarships next year and will look to sign about 20.

- Although low on numbers, this class is the highest average rated by stars ever signed by Clemson.

- There are a couple of preferred walkons that will be joining the team in the fall that will help fill some critical needs.

- The staff has already have made a lot of progress on the 2010 class. Swinney spent most of the day on the phone with 2010 prospects.

- Coaches will take Friday, Monday, and Tuesday off and be back to work next Wednesday with the offseason program with the players.

- More coming
