Clemson cracks top 15 in AP Poll

by -

CLEMSON -- Clemson is ranked 15th by AP and 16th by USA Today this week. Clemson was 18th in the AP poll last week and ranked 19th by USA Today.

This is just the third week this year Clemson has been in the top 25 of at least one of the polls, but the 31st week over the last four years, or since the current seniors came to Clemson. This week’s number 15 ranking is the highest for the Clemson program since Clemson’s number-nine preseason ranking last year. This is the first time Clemson has been ranked in the top 20 in the month of November since the final regular season poll of 2007 when the Tigers were 15th in AP and 16th in USA Today.

Clemson is trying to finish in the top 25 for the fourth consecutive time in an odd numbered year. Clemson finished 22nd in 2003, 21st in 2005 and 21st in 2007. Over the last six years Clemson has finished in the top 25 in each odd numbered year and not in the top 25 in the even numbered years.
